Howard is a long-time proponent of natural/organic products. He has been instrumental in our knowledge and understanding of organic lawn care, gardening, and tree care. We have worked with Howard on various projects and have had great success using his methods. His knowledge of organics has lead him to be known as a leading authority in its practice. This is an excellent project headed by Dr. Doug Tallamy aimed at recreating biodiversity in both urban and rural areas. Millions of acres of land are resigned to monoculture turfgrass (lawns). This program encourages the planting of "keystone species" that have the greatest positive ecological impact for local wildlife. Use of these native keystone plants will attract and support beneficial insects, songbirds, pollinators, etc. By adding small areas to the map one by one, you can start to turn a neighborhood into an ecosystem. An Ellis County local resource that offers classes and events for our area pertaining to wildlife, conservation, and ecological restoration. This group works closely with the NRCS, TPWD, and many other conservation groups and is well suited for those who want to get out and make a difference for wildlife and our natural areas.  For more information, click here.
